Gaps in your CV

If you've taken time out to travel or pursue a different activity this is now perfectly acceptable, try to accentuate how the experience has benefited you. Don't lie; it's important not to give the impression that you've been sitting around doing nothing for six months. Informal study, family care or recovering from illness are feasible excuses, provided you can back them up.
